The Guys in the team simply refer to Carrie as "Hey, slow down".

She got the taste for adventure on an Operation Raleigh expedition to Cameroon (89), returning as a leader on a 3-month expedition to southern Chile (91).

Carrie spent 5 years living in South Africa as an outdoor instructor with Outward Bound (96-98). On returning to the UK she spent two seasons in the French Alps (99 and '00).

One of the UK's top female adventure racers, Carrie is married and has a young daughter.
